The King's New Year Honours List is now revealed

A range of Buckinghamshire. Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire residents are being recognised by the King for their service.

The King's New Year Honours List, compiled and announced as we move into the new year, aims to decorate those who have contributed significantly to industries, services, or the voluntary sector.

Put simply, those who made achievements in public life or committed themselves to serving and helping the UK could feature on the list.

So without further ado, here is a breakdown of who was handed an award this year in each of the three counties.

Buckinghamshire

Commanders of the Order of the British Empire (CBE)

Joseph Richard Harrison, Chief Executive at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Decorated for his services to Healthcare (Great Missenden).

Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)

Heidi Rebecca Elizabeth Travis, Chief Executive at Sue Ryder. For her services to Palliative, Neurological and Bereavement Care Services (Milton Keynes).

Kevin Whately, Actor. Handed an award for services to Drama and to Charity (Milton Keynes).

Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)

Adrian Christy, Chief Executive Officer, Table Tennis England. Decorated for his services to Table Tennis (Milton Keynes).

Neil David Hatton, Chief Executive Officer, UK Screen Alliance. For services to the Visual Effects and Animation Industries. (Beaconsfield).

Dr Penelope Jane Shirlaw, Chair of the London Local Dental Network and Honorary Consultant, Office of the Chief Dental Officer, NHS England. She is being recognised for her services to Dentistry (High Wycombe).

Medallists of the Order of the British Empire (BEM)

Lindsay Faulkner, recognised for her services to the community in Ley Hill, Buckinghamshire (Chesham).

Mohammad Fayyaz, Councillor at Chesham Town Council and Buckinghamshire Council. He is being decorated for services to the community in Chesham.

Bedfordshire

Professor Linda Mary Field, Emeritus Fellow, Rothamsted Research and Honorary Professor, University of Nottingham. For services to Protecting Crops and to the Environment (Luton).

Vanessa Caroline Havard-Williams, recognised for her services to Legal and Financial Services, to Public Finance and to Tackling Climate Change (Bedford).

Mark John Lay, National Drug Coordination Lead, National Police Chiefs Council. For services to Preventing Drug Related Deaths (Bedford).

Ronald McMurdie, Special Chief Inspector, Hertfordshire Constabulary. Decorated for services to Policing (Biggleswade).

Christopher David Murphy, Managing Director, Dunster House Ltd and Director, Military Medals and Books Ltd. For services to Business and to Charity (Bedford).

Malcolm David Chalmers, for his services to the community in Wootton, Bedfordshire (Bedford).

Robin Neville Gell, Judo Coach. Decorated for his services to Sport and to the community in Bedfordshire (Bedford).

Enoch Kanagaraj, Founder of One Vision and Vice-Chair, Hertfordshire County Interfaith. For services to Charity and to the community in Hertfordshire (Dunstable).

John Dyson Kingham, recognised for his services to the community in Luton.

Jaswinder Kumar, President of the Management Committee of Sri Guru Ravidass Sabha Bedford. Recognised for Charitable Services in Bedford.

Sally Kate Martiello, Manager at Oakley Kindergarten, Bedford. For services to Early Years and to the community in Bedford.
