Buckinghamshire will find out what tier restrictions it will face from December 19th tomorrow.

After an announcement for neighbouring areas of Hertfordshire would move into Tier 3 tomorrow, Buckinghamshire is preparing for an announcement over the areas restrictions.

Currently the county is in Tier 2, despite entering last months lockdown at Tier 1.

Ahead of the 2-week tier review, Buckinghamshire Council's Leader Martin Tett explains a range of factors affect placement:

"It's not just the infection rate. It depends on the age range of those in the infection rate, it depends on whether the infection rate is going up or down.

"There's also the pressure on the local hospital is and other factors.

"What I am hoping is the trend of infection rate does not keep going upwards here."

The rise in cases could see Buckinghamshire move into Tier 3 tomorrow, which would mean pubs, cafes and restaurants would close except for takeout items.

Buckinghamshire Council have said that no matter what tier the area is in they hope people will focus on what they can control, the spread of the virus.

They ask residents to continue to follow advice on masks, distance and handwashing.

As well as asking people to only mix over Christmas if they really need to and to limit it if possible.
