Covid-19 hospitalisations dropping in Buckinghamshire

Figures show the number of patients in Bucks Trust hospitals has fallen

In the last four weeks, the number of patients in hospital with Covid-19 has fallen by 68% in Buckinghamshire.

As of Tuesday March 9th Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust was caring for 50 coronavirus patients in hospital.

Data from NHS England shows that the number at 8am the previous Tuesday was 77, that's a drop of 27 people.

The number of beds at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 has decreased by 68% in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 155.

The figures also show that 28 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in the week to March 7.

This was down from 37 in the previous seven days.

The message from Buckinghamshire NHS Trust and Buckinghamshire Council remains to stay patient and stick to the regulations in place at the time.

Across England there were 7,451 people in hospital with Covid as of March 9, with 1,187 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has decreased by 66% in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 59%.
