Buckinghamshire Council is reminding shielders of support services available.

Shielder's in Buckinghamshire are being encouraged to seek help and advice during the current lockdown.

The clinically extremely vulnerable will receive a letter from the government in the coming days outlining what precautions they should take.

Councillor Gareth Williams wants anyone who is shielding to know Buckinghamshire Council has support services available:

"We can help with things like shopping, so if you are struggling getting a priority delivery slot we can look at that for you.

"We have funding in place for things like coats and duvets.

"Then there are white goods, so fridges and washing machines if people really need them.

"Our library staff are doing daily befriending calls and we know mental health has been a real issue through this pandemic.

"We have people who are here and willing and ready to just have a chat through to help with something."

How Bucks Council's services are affected by lockdown

Buckinghamshire council also want all residents to look at the change in services that will be available in this lockdown.

For example, libraries will be closed unlike the restrictions in November, but many of the staff will like in the first national lockdown join local efforts to support the vulnerable
