The Buckingham School says they kept children behind yesterday afternoon following "reports of a potential significant safeguarding risk" to their students.

A post on social media reported the threat to have been just after 3pm today, posing a risk to pupils just outside of the school.

Teachers implemented a brief lockdown for the safety of their pupils, and have praised them for behaving "impeccably" by listening and following the directions calmly and safely.

Students were released around 15 minutes later, when they were assured there was no risk.

Parents have praised the school for their swift actions to safeguard their children.
