Boy struck by car on Fairlands Way in Stevenage

The boy was struck just before 9am this morning and they are now being treated for a leg injury in hospital

A 12-year-old boy is being treated in hospital, following a collison with a car on the school run.

The Boy was struck by a white Kia Sportage on Fairlands Way, Stevenage, shortly before 9am on Friday morning.

Emergency services, including the East of England Ambulance Service and an air ambulance, attended the scene.

Police were called at around 9.05am following reports of the collision.

The boy, who sustained a leg injury, was transported by road to Lister Hospital for treatment.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said, “We were called at 8.55am with reports that a boy had been hit by a car on Fairlands Way in Stevenage. An ambulance, rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer vehicle, and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.”

The driver of the Kia remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Fairlands Way remains closed between Knights Templars Green and Pacatian Way while investigations are ongoing.
