Bedforshire ex-officer filmed speeding sentenced
He was given suspended prison sentence and banned from the roads.
A man who allowed himself to be filmed driving at over 150mph on the A421 in Bedfordshire has been banned from driving for 12-months and handed a suspended prison sentence.
Petar Krtinic, 23 from Bedford, was filmed by his sister while driving on 2 January this year at speeds exceeding 150mph. The video, which was posted to Instagram, showed him behind the wheel of his highly modified Volkswagen Golf on the westbound A421 in treacherous conditions.
Officers from Bedfordshire Police Roads Policing Unit also found an image on the offender's social media account showing him driving at night with his speedometer showing 166mph along with a caption of ‘peaceful’.
Krtinic will also have to complete 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12-months. He was also fined a total of £234 and will be required to take an extended retest.
