Bedfordshire Firefighters tackle hay bale blaze near to A5

Firefighters in Bedfordshire have been working through the night to tackle a blaze close to the A5 between Houghton Regis and Toddington.

Crews were on the scene of the large hay bale fire around 11pm last night.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said that they were expecting to be on the scene tackling the blaze "for some hours".

People have been asked to avoid the area.
