Three teenagers charged with murder of Thomas Taylor in Bedford

The three males will appear before Luton Magistrates' Court on Monday

Three teenagers have been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Thomas Taylor in Bedford.

Taylor, who was 17, died as a result of an incident that took place on Greenhill Street in Bedford at around 5:50pm on Wednesday (January 8th).

Now, Bedfordshire Police have charged three teenagers aged between 16 and 18 with Thomas' murder.

Ahmed Adam, 18, from Mardale Close, Kempston - and two other boys aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named because of their age - were arrested on Friday (January 10th) in connection with Thomas' death.

Following their lines of enquiry, the force went on to deliver the murder charge on Saturday (January 11th).

All three have been remanded in police custody and will appear before Luton Magistrates' Court on Monday (January 13th).

On top of this, three other arrests in connection to the case were made over the weekend, with two males aged 16 and 18 being arrested on Saturday, where they remain in police custody.

Similarly, an 18-year-old was also arrested, but has been released on bail as enquires are ongoing.

Speaking on the case, Detective Inspector Richard Stott from the Major Crime Unit of Bedfordshire Police said that investigations are ongoing.

"Our thoughts remain very much with Thomas’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time," he said.

“We understand this was a shocking incident and we would like to reassure our local community that we are working tirelessly on this case and would urge anyone with information to get it touch with us."
