Basil the Pony rescued by Bucks firefighters
Crews were called on Tuesday to the trapped pony near Marlow
Firefighters from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have rescued a pony who became trapped near Marlow.
On Tuesday (April 23rd) firefighters from the county were joined by firefighters from Berkshire to help the pony, Basil, who became stuck in a four-foot-deep trench.
Hand tools were used to create space around Basil, before he was hoisted to safety.
Basil was placed in the care of his owners and his vet, who has shared an update:
“Basil has responded well to medication, started eating and remains stable. I can’t thank the fire service enough for their expertise, professionalism and empathy!”
