This year, 1,600 crimes have been solved in Aylesbury Vale - up by around 25% on previous years.

From focuses on domestic abuse to cutting burglaries and drug crime, the areas Superintendent told us they have had some brilliant results since April - the start of their year.

He said:

"There has been a real focus for us on making sure that we do achieve justice, where the opportunity is there.

"My teams are really proud of what they have delivered here in that regard."

What have officers been working on?

Mike highlighted efforts to tackle domestic abuse, with a 57% arrest rate, which he says is really high.

That has resulted in a rise in convictions, or things like Domestic Violence Prevention notices which, if breached, means fines or prison sentences.

In terms of burglaries, body-worn cameras have helped with investigations and when it comes to robberies, just under 50% have been solved here.

Drug dealing is also a big issue here and the Superintendent told us county lines operations have seen over 120 people arrested, over 4.5kg in drugs and £90k cash seized.

Mike added that neighbourhood teams have worked really hard and he is very proud of them:

"Certainly Covid has meant many changed to some of our opportunities in policing, some of the challenges that we have had.

"But the officers and staff I have got here I am phenomenally proud of. They have absolutely responded in the way I would have hoped for."
