UPDATE: Wendover Road, Aylesbury, reopens after pub fire

A road in Aylesbury has now reopened, after being closed for emergency services to deal with a fire.

Officers had asked people to avoid Wendover Road, outside the police station.

Traffic was slow, causing queues back to Camborne Avenue.

Thames Valley Police have told Greatest Hits Radio it took place at a public house.

Bucks Fire and Rescue say: 'Two appliances from Aylesbury and one from West Ashland attended a Fire in a detached Public House and Hotel on Wendover Road, Aylesbury. The fire started in the boiler room on the first floor.

'The property was damaged by both fire and smoke which included roof damage. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, thermal image camera and small gear. All persons were accounted for.'
