An Aylesbury man has been jailed for more than two and a half years after he was convicted of a drugs supply offence.

Grant Murphy, of Rainsborough Gardens, pleaded guilty to one count of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, namely cocaine, in a hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on 2 December 2021.

Appearing at Amersham Crown Court on Wednesday for sentencing, Murphy was subsequently sentenced to a total of two years and eight months’ imprisonment.

At 7.20pm on 1 December 2021, Murphy was found in control of an Aylesbury cocaine drugs line by the name of ‘Rico’.

Murphy was arrested on Rainsborough Gardens and following a property search, more than £1,500 worth of cocaine and £1,760 in cash was seized.

Murphy was charged and pleaded guilty to the offence.

The cash seized will be given to a charity of the court’s choice.

Investigating officer PC Ratcliffe, based at Aylesbury police station, said:

“Tackling county lines drug dealing remains one of the top priorities of Thames Valley Police.

“I hope that this conviction and sentence sends out a clear message to anybody involved in organised crime within Aylesbury Vale that you will be targeted and robustly pursued by the Stronghold team.

“County lines drug dealers often target the most vulnerable people in our communities, and we are committed to removing them from society and safeguard and protect victims.

“I hope that Murphy reflects on his actions during his time in prison.

“Tackling county lines dealing continues to need the support of the public, and we would urge anybody who has information about drug dealing to please report it to the police.
