Aylesbury man arrested in connection with two incidents of rape

A 44-year-old man from Aylesbury has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of rape.

It is in connection with two incidents that happened in Aylesbury, one on Sunday (12/2) and one yesterday (13/2).

The man remains in police custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Tejinder Sidhu, based at Aylesbury police station, said:

“We believe that these two incidents are linked and I understand that this will cause significant concern.

“We are conducting a thorough and extensive investigation with significant resources and we do not believe there is a wider risk to the local community.

“The victims are also being supported by specially trained officers at this time.

“By way of reassurance, you may see an increased presence of police officers in the area.

“This presence is to provide reassurance to our communities and should you have any concerns or wish to speak to an officer, please do not hesitate to do so.”
