Hot meals are being provided for homeless people in Aylesbury by a local foodbank.

Through November Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse will be providing hot meals for the homeless, they will be available Monday and Wednesday between 11.30am and 1.30pm.

As a second lockdown was announced covering almost the entire month, the Vineyard are conscious there are people who will not have a home to go to, or a hot meal to make there.

Sarah is Head Chef:

"We are currently offering a free lunch to anyone who is homeless, a rough sleeper of anyone who just doesnt have the means to pay for one themselves.

"We are very aware that the days are becoming colder, shelter is limited, and with cafes and restaurants closing for lockdown there are less opportunities to support people in need.

"All of the meals are freshly made by our team of volunteers through food dontated directly, and indirectly through fairshare."

The foodbank are calling for people to continue to donate food during lockdown so they they can continue schemes like this.

With people staying home more, they are also concerned people in need may be isolated or unaware of this offer.

Storehouse are therefore calling on locals to share the information of this so that those in need are able to get a hot meal on these days.
