Buckinghamshire Council organised the Aylesbury Community Board meeting held yesterday (18/12).

Aylesbury Community Board held a virtual meeting yesterday to update each other and locals on the issue of coronavirus in the area.

Data shared showed the Aylesbury had seen 233 cases between December 6th and 12th, the highest of any area in Buckinghamshire.

Presentations were given by members of the board focusing on the issue of rising case numbers in the Aylesbury area.

Advice was shared from this about the importance of following restrictions in place, especially as the area moves to Tier 3 today.

Questions were raised by Councillors and locals about the issue of rules being relaxed over Christmas.

The government are currently still allowing 5 days of relaxed rules where a maximum of 3 households are allowed to meet indoors.

However, ACB members stressed that because residents can do this does not mean they should.

Instead, they are encouraged to limit the contact they have with others as much as possible.

Self isolation was also a focus on the meeting, particularly the need to do it immediately after symptoms present or a notification is received.

However, the issue of people struggling financially during self isolation or generally during the pandemic was discussed.

Members stressed the importance of reaching out to local organisations and authorities.
