Thames Valley Police say one of their officers had a 'lucky escape' in Aylesbury, when a car 'nearly crashed into the back of their police car.'

It happened when the officer was checking another motorist on the A41 Tring Road.

The driver was arrested, after being suspected of being over the legal limit for alcohol when driving.

Officers say the car they were driving was also uninsured, so has been seized.

Posting on social media, Thames Valley Police Roads Policing added: 'The dangers of drinking and driving should never be underestimated.

'If you are concerned about someone drinking and driving, or witness concerning behaviour or driving, please call us (999 in an emergency), report online, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.'
