Man attacked with broken glass in attempted murder at Aylesbury pub

The victim remains in hospital

A man from Aylesbury has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after a man was assaulted with a piece of broken glass.

At around 9.30pm yesterday (21 June), the victim, a man in his twenties, was inside The Feathers in Kingsbury Square when he tried to stop a fight between two other men.

One of the men then assaulted the victim with a piece of broken glass.

The victim suffered a wound to his neck and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 23-year-old man from Aylesbury has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 20-year-old man, from High Wycombe, and a 25-year-old woman, from Aylesbury, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three remain in police custody.

Senior Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Simon Tyas, based at Aylesbury police station said:

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information about what happened, to please come forward.

"We believe that this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public.
