A window has been smashed and accelerant poured through it at a home in Luton.

Emergency services were called out to Dewsbury Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

The offender had poured accelerant into the property along with a lighted piece of paper, then made off from the scene in the direction of Catherall Road.

The offender was wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Richard Marshall, from our Crime Investigation Team, said:

“This incident could have had tragic consequences, and has understandably left the victim really shaken up.

“We are following up lines of enquiry and I am now keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously.”
