One person has been arrested after several reports of thefts from cars in part of Aylesbury.

Police say a number of incidents happened overnight on Wednesday.

They asked for CCTV footage from Fairford Leys and have had a big response.

In a post on Facebook, TVP Aylesbury said:

"If anyone is aware of such incidents and have not yet spoken to us please do get in touch.

"Likewise if you are aware of, or have CCTV that may assist please make contact with us, we will also be making contact with those that have posted footage online.

"Now that we are aware of these incidents, you will notice an increased presence of officers in the local area. Please don’t hesitate to stop and talk to our officers or PCSO’s if you see them out and about."

They are asking locals to make sure they officially report crimes to the police, not just on social media.

If you see or suspect a crime is taking place, call 999.
