Appeal for witnesses after teenage boy robbed in Luton

The 14-year-old was threatened with a knife and had his electric scooter stolen

Bedfordshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was threatened and had his electric scooter stolen in Luton.

At approximately 7pm on Monday (4 April), the victim was on his way home on his electric scooter in Toddington Road, when he was approached by two young men on a push bike who threatened him with a knife.

Officers say the two young men grabbed hold of the victim’s electric scooter before making off with it.

Bedfordshire Police say they were both wearing black clothing and black balaclavas.

Investigating officer PC Kimberley Lovejoy, from Bedfordshire Police South Criminal Investigation Department, said: “This is a violent incident which has caused the victim a great deal of distress. Thankfully he was not physically harmed.

“We will not tolerate behaviour like this in our communities and are urging anyone with any information to get in touch with us.”
