Appeal following fatal Husborne Crawley collision

A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene

Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision that took place in Husborne Crawley, in which a man died.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Ridgmont Road, Husborne Crawley on Saturday (27 December) at around 8pm.

A silver VW Polo had collided with a hedge and set alight. The driver, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Constable Felicity Walker from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit said:

“This is a tragic incident which has resulted in a man losing his life. We currently do not know how the victim’s vehicle left the road and we would be keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision.

"We would also urge anyone who was driving in the area around Ridgmont and Husborne Crawley at the time or who may have dashcam footage of the silver Polo prior to the incident to get in touch.

“Any information may help us to piece together the cause of the incident.”

Anyone with information is being urged to come forward in order to help support the police with their investiagtion.
