An emergency situation was called in Buckinghamshire after a light aircraft hit an articulated vehicle while trying to land.

The incident happened when the plane flew 'lower than required' to keep a safe distance above the traffic.

As it approached the runway, the pilot noticed a vehicle turning on to the road from the right in his peripheral vision.

He stated that he was focused on his landing point on the runway, before hearing a 'bang' as the plane passed the road.

The driver of the vehicle informed the Air Accidents Investigation Branch of the event and provided photographs of tyre marks on the top of it.

It's been confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
