Part of the A413 near Little Missenden will close tonight for the weekend.

The stretch from Keepers Lane to Pipers Wood Lane will close at 9pm and re-open Monday morning.

It's for HS2 to divert utilities to build it's Little Missenden vent shaft.

To do these works safely and reduce the need for further full closures over the next few months, HS2's contractors Align will be doing this work over one full weekend.

Councillor Steve Broadbent, Buckinghamshire Council's Cabinet Member for Transport said:

"The original plan was to shut the road over two weekends in April but following local discussions we considered the likely volume of displaced traffic and the associated impacts, unacceptable at that time.

"Since then we have been working with Align, HS2 Limited and local Ward and Parish Councillors to minimise the impact on the local area and agreed that a full closure over one weekend was the better option.

"Notices are being posted to all households in the local area and electronic message boards (VMS) will be positioned on the main roads between Stoke Mandeville and Amersham, warning drivers of the up and coming closure.

"The diversion will also be actively managed by traffic marshalls at key locations and closure points either side of the work site at Little Missenden."
