Emergency closures were put in place last night on the A1M between Welwyn and Stevenage.

It's after a carriageway defect which needed repairing.

The closure was announced to drivers last night, with the A1M fully closed between junctions 6 and 7 northbound.

One lane closure remains in place this morning, with the full road closure ending at 5am.

National Highways say there have been some delays due to one lane remaining closed during rush hour today.

Drivers were urged to allow extra time and to follow the diversion.
