80 Cyclists set off from Cranfield for the Jo Cox Way Ride
Jo Cox MP was murdered 7 years ago
80 cyclists are setting off from Cranfield in Bedford today as part of a 280-mile ride to remember Jo Cox MP.
Jo Cox was murdered 7 years ago, and since then, the Jo Cox Way ride from Yorkshire to London has been happening every year. The ride aims to keep the legacy of the former Labour MP alive by promoting causes that were important to her.
Organiser, Tim Smith spoke with Greatest Hits and told us why the event this year is so special.
“When it started it was only 8 people, now its 80 so it’s bigger than ever”.
“We have more women than ever, and we hope by the time the ride is 10 years old to have 50/50 representation. So, we hope to continue growing the ride”.
