Hertfordshire road policing officers have launched an official investigation into what caused a fatal road traffic collision in Eastwick, near Hertford.

Police report that they were called at around 10:30 am to the scene on the A414 in Eastwick; two cars had collided a white Mercedes with a Mazda MX5.

A woman in her 70s sadly died and two occupants of another vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed for some time after the accident but has since reopened.

Police appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident and for any relevant dashcam footage.
