47-year-old dies in A1M crash in Hertfordshire

A man has died after a crash on the A1M in Hertfordshire, early yesterday morning.

Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit are appealing for information following the crash, after being called around 6:30am yesterday morning (January 22).

The road was closed for several hours whilst emergency services attended the scene.

A 47-year-old man from Middlesex died at the scene, his family are being supported.

Police believe a black Renault Megane convertible left the road, but the reasons are unknown.

Detective Sergeant Ben Heath from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit who is investigating said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen a vehicle on its side in the early hours of Monday morning (22 January).

“If you were driving in the area between 6am and 6.30am and have dash cam footage, please report this to me.”
