3,000 litres of milk spill onto M40
The motorway was partially closed in Bucks after a lorry fire
A milk lorry caught fire on the M40 in Buckinghamshire last night.
Around 3,000 litres of milk spilled onto the motorway as a result.
Bucks Fire & Rescue were called out to the fire between junctions 5 (Stokenchurch) and 4 (Handy Cross) at around 7.40pm.
One appliance and crew from High Wycombe, two from Wheatley, one from Watlington and two officers attended.
Firefighters used one hose reel, foam, four sets of breathing apparatus and an environmental protection kit.
The lorry was carrying about 8,000 litres of milk, of which about 3,000 litres spilled on to the carriageway.
