19-year-old stabbed in back during robbery of e-bike in Watford
Hertfordshire Police are asking anyone with information to come forward
A 19-year-old man has been stabbed in Watford during a robbery of an e-bike.
It happened at about 14:45 on December 6th near the bottom of Falcon Way in Watford.
Reports say the 19-year-old was riding his matt black Sur-Ron e-bike on the road, which runs underneath the M1.
There, he was approached by three males, donned with black clothes and wearing balaclavas.
There, the 19-year-old victim was shouted at to get off the bike.
That's where he then tried to get away - before being stabbed in the back, and the men in balaclavas made off with the bike.
The victim sought help over at The Gossamers.
He needed hospital treatment for the wound, but is now recovering at home.
Detectives have now launched an appeal for witnesses.
PC Ben Nash, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “Thankfully the victim’s injuries did not prove to be life threatening, but could easily have been more serious.
“Our enquiries are continuing at this time and we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
“Did you see three males acting suspiciously in the area around the time? Did you see anyone riding an e-bike in the area or have you seen one advertised for sale? Any information at all could prove key to progressing our enquiries, so please get in touch.”
Those with information are being urged to come forward - with PC Ben Nash on the case - and says for anyone with more details to email him.
