11 fire engines attend Iver barn fire

Bucks Fire and Rescue were called to the incident at 8:35 this morning - which has now been put out

A barn fire in Iver Heath meant 11 fire engines were deployed to the site at the height of the incident.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were also joined by five police officers from Thames Valley Police during the incident, with smoke visible from the M25.

Crews from fire stations in Gerrards Cross; Slough; Beaconsfield; Hayes; Ruislip; Maidenhead; Heathrow; Hillingdon; Langley; Bracknell; and Aylesbury attended the scene when the fire was at its most intense.

The emergency service have described the incident - with the report revealing that the barn was 'well alight' when the fire engines arrived.

The barn contained 'a number' of vehicles - including a forklift truck, bales of hay and cylinders of liquified petroleum gas,

During the incident, the firefighters used:

  • Three sets of breathing apparatus
  • One hose reel jet
  • One main jet
  • Two ground monitors

Assessing the damage, Bucks Fire and Rescue say the barn was 50% damaged by fire - and 100% damaged by smoke.

While the emergency services were in attendance, they road was closed, with Thames Valley Police managing traffic.

Firefighters remained at the scene to make sure the barn was fully damped down.
