More than 1,000 assaults on police in the Thames Valley in the last year
The figures include over 200 assaults that resulted in an injury
There was 1,101 assaults on officers in the Thames Valley in 2019/20.
The figures, released by the Office for National Statistics, show of those attacks, 205 of them resulted in a police constable being injured.
National figures for England and Wales show 30,679 attacks, 10,410 resulting in injury.
That's an increase of 2.3% on the previous year.
Superintendent for Aylesbury Mike Loebenburg said:
"I will give every effort I can to ensure officers have got equipment and support in order to both address offending that's taking place by bring offence to justice wherever possible and also to support them with their welfare and wellbeing."
The national figures include British Transport Police but exclude Greater Manchester Police.
