Woman, 20s, dies after crash near Trowbridge

The two-vehicle collision saw the A361 Frome Road closed for around ten hours

A woman has died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Southwick, near Trowbridge.

Emergency services were called to A361 Frome Road shortly after 11am yesterday (Monday 10 January) after a collision between a blue Citroen C3 and a white tipper truck.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, sadly died at the scene - her family have been informed.

A passenger in the car, a man in his 20s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries.

The male driver of the truck suffered serious leg injuries and was also taken to hospital.

The road was closed for around ten hours to allow collision investigation work to be carried out and reopened at around 9.00pm last night.

Wiltshire Police are asking any witnesses, or anyone who saw either vehicle shortly before the collision, to call their Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log 76 of yesterday (10/01).
