Tributes are being paid to Prince Philip across Wiltshire, following his death at the age of 99.

Buckingham Palace made the announcement "with great sorrow", adding that the Duke of Edinburgh "passed away peacefully" at Windsor Castle on Friday 9 April.

In total, he supported more than 800 charities and organisations, as well as being Captain of the Royal Marines between 1953 and 2017.

Our reporter Matt Hutchinson got reaction from the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, who met Prince Philip in the county on several occasions:

The Duke of Edinburgh's death has also been marked by Wiltshire Police:

Wiltshire Council has been paying its respects, with the local authority flying flags at half-mast.

It's also allowing residents to offer their tributes virtually, amid the current lockdown restrictions:

The South Western Ambulance Service called the announcement "terribly sad" and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance says its "thoughts are with" the Royal Family.
