'What's at the heart of Christmas for you' asks Bishop
In her annual Christmas message, the Bishop of Taunton asks us to think about what's truly important
The Right Reverend Ruth Worsley, who's part of the Diocese of Bath & Wells, has been reflecting on what happened to her family last year - after her husband contracted Covid.
In her annual Christmas message, the Bishop of Taunton says: "I wonder what's at the heart of Christmas for you?
Perhaps it's the sound of the children excitedly getting ready for Christmas?
Perhaps it's the feasting, the family? Perhaps it's the presents? The stockings? Perhaps it's the tinsel, the trees?
"Last year Christmas wasn't quite as we normally would have it, was it? This year is still a little uncertain, but having cancelled our Christmas plans last year as my husband got Covid, this year's we're pulling out the stops."
The Diocese of Bath & Wells say: "In her Christmas message Bishop Ruth reminds us that Christmas is a day to rejoice and celebrate the coming of Christ as a child into a humble human family; God becoming one of us.
"She asks us to think about what is truly at the heart of Christmas as we prepare our hearts for the Light of Christ coming into a world that still feels somewhat dark, and uncertain."
