Warminster Town Councillors have strongly supported a planning application which would allow an industrial unit at Warminster Business Park to be modified for use an Ambulance Station.

Members of the Warminster Town Council Planning Advisory Committee were unanimous in voting to support the application at their meeting on Monday 12th October.

Committee Chairman, Councillor Tony Nicklin said:

“The current Ambulance station operates from facilities owned by the police authority which they now require for their own purposes. As a result, the ambulance station is required to relocate.

"The Trust has carried out site searches of Warminster which have been unable to identify any suitable alternative accommodation which could provide adequate ambulance access, parking or floorspace within the town centre.”

“Overall, the proposals represent a sustainable location for the delivery of a new ambulance station facility to the benefit of the local community in Warminster.”

The station would provide a base for ambulance staff and paramedics to store equipment and personal belongings, access welfare facilities and perform administrative tasks and hold meetings.

The station would also provide a base for ambulances which would be used to attend blue-light and non-emergency calls.
