A veterinary firm, which has its global base in Keynsham, has confirmed it may outsource some roles amid reports its considering axing 400 jobs.

IVC Evidencia, which has an office at the old Chocolate Factory, calls itself "the leading global care provider" boasting around 2,600 veterinary clinics across 20 countries.

It adds "we invest in our people, premises and processes to provide outstanding care", but in a statement sent to Greatest Hits Radio a spokesperson for the company confirmed some roles may be going.

"IVC Evidensia is committed to delivering outstanding care to animals and outstanding service to our customers," the spokesperson said.

"We continually review our back-office services to ensure they are supporting the business in the most effective and efficient way.

"We’re considering outsourcing finance services to a specialist business, to help improve support levels and enable our veterinary teams to better focus on animal care and customer service.

"Following this proposed change, The Chocolate Factory in Keynsham will continue to serve as IVC Evidensia’s global centre for multiple corporate functions.”

The firm has neither confirmed nor denied that as many as 400 jobs could be facing the axe, but that figure has been reported by other media outlets.
