Two men arrested for drugs offences - after 'proactive' police operation in Melksham
Wiltshire Police have arrested the men, in their 20s and 30s, after stopping a car which was involved in the distribution of Class A drugs
Two men have been arrested by Wiltshire Police after a 'proactive' patrol by their Team 4 Community Policing Team.
They have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after the force received intelligence, which led them to believe a car was involved in the supply of distributing Class A drugs.
When the car was stopped and searched by officers, those inside were found to be in possession of what police have called a 'substantial amount' of suspected Class A drugs.
It was being driven by a man who didn't have a valid driving licence, whilst the car itself wasn't insured.
The vehicle has now been seized.
Police than searched an address in Melksham which was linked to those inside the car - with the neighbourhood team finding further suspected Class A drugs.
The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
The men were bailed for the drugs offences while the investigation continues.
One of the men was charged with driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and for using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without insurance. He is due to appear in court at a later date.
