Detectives investigating the death of a 16-year-old from Kingswood, Bristol, have charged two boys.

Mikey Roynon died on Saturday night in Bath, a post-mortem examination confirmed he died as a result of a single stab wound.

There's been a large police presence in the Eastfield Avenue area of Bath since, with more than 100 officers working on the case.

Police say they've now charged two boys with the murder of Mikey, and possessing an offensive weapon.

For legal reasons, the boys can't be named - but we know one is 15 and from Dorset, the other is 16 and from Wiltshire.

The pair will appear before magistrates at a Youth Court in Bristol today (15/06) and remain in police custody.

DI Mike Newbury, who is the senior investigating officer says “This is a significant development in our investigation and in our quest to achieve justice for Mikey"

"The investigation is ongoing and there is still a lot of work for us to do. The cordon has now been reduced but officers are likely to remain at the property for the next few days."

Police are thanking the community in Bath for their "patience and understanding" whilst the cordon has been in place.

We're told there will still be some officers on the scene over the next few days.
