Sporting community in Bath pay tribute to HRH Queen Elizabeth II

Sporting communities across Bath are paying tribute after Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died aged 96.

Messages have been pouring in on social media from teams across our local area, since Her Majesty passed away at Balmoral on Thursday (8th September).

Among those sharing tributes is Bath Rugby, who say they "mourn with the nation".

Bath City football club took to Twitter. They say they are "deeply saddened" to hear of the passing of Her Majesty.

Somerset Cricket Club have posted a photograph of The Queen, with a caption saying: "The thoughts of everyone at Somerset County Cricket Club are with The Royal Family at this time".
