Glastonbury-based football development officer Rob Allan says interest usually peaks when the national squad - or particular athletes - do well in competitions.
On July 24 there will be a Somerset FA England Talent Day for youngsters aged 7-16 who have a visual or hearing impairment and/or cerebral palsy.
The event aims to offer them a potential path to one of the St George's-based national teams via the England Para-Talent Pathway.
The Somerset FA work across Somerset and South Bristol.
