Serious crash on M4 causes long tailbacks between Bristol and Bath
Avon and Somerset Police are on the scene, with drivers for a time blocked from travelling in both directions
Avon and Somerset Police have been at the scene of a serious crash on the M4 between Bristol and Bath this afternoon (March 26).
Drivers in both directions have been warned of major tailbacks following the incident earlier today - with motorists urged to avoid the area for much of the afternoon.
Investigation works continue with National Highways telling drivers that efforts continue to release traffic caught in the closure via the rear of the queue.
The road was, for a time, closed in both directions between J19 and J18.
