A plane which took off with just a 10 foot clearance from Bristol Airport to Gran Canaria back in March has been investigated.

The flight, a Boeing 737-8K5, with six crew and 163 passengers, took off on March 4th.

It's been found the pilots realised too late they were running out of ground, and now takeoff procedures at the airport have been tightened.

The crew didn't realise the thrust wasn't set correctly when they got going.

The report into the investigation stated:

"Further, as the correct thrust setting was not set until passing approximately 900 ft aal, the A38 road, adjacent to the boundary of Bristol Airport, was overflown at less than 100 ft."
