Plans to transform the north of Bath City Centre over the next twenty years have been revealed.

BANES Council's proposing changes to the Milsom Quarter by attracting creative businesses, building 180 new homes and relocating the fashion museum.

A consultation's now opened on the proposals, which runs until the 15th of July.

The Milsom Quarter area is bounded by George Street to the north, Upper Borough Walls to the south, Queens Square to the west, and the Cattlemarket car park and the river to the east.

The masterplan explains how it could be 'transformed into a nationally renowned fashion destination centred around a new Fashion Museum, a range of high-end retailers and space for makers and creative industries'.

As well as the new homes, vacant spaces above shops could be repurposed for employment, leisure and residential use.

The proposals also include a new public square at St Michael’s Church and restrictions to vehicle access at Green Street and Lower Broad Street, giving priority for walking and cycling.
