A seventh Kill the Bill protest took place in Bristol last night (10 April 2021).

The demonstration, against the Police and Crime Bill, began on College Green where many of the previous protests had started.

Before it got underway Avon and Somerset Police tweeted to say they would work towards a peaceful protest.

Apart from one arrest being made, it looks as though officers were successful in facilitating a peaceful protest.

The first three protests of this kind in the city were held under stricter coronavirus restrictions. This led to riot police being called in to try and remove protestors with force. However since the restrictions were relaxed slightly, the protests have been going ahead mainly peacefully.
