Melksham woman dies after incident involving a horse and a motorbike

A woman has died after an incident involving a horse and a motorcyclist.

Wiltshire Police say it happened on Bollands Hill near Seend Cleeve yesterday afternoon (July 9) at around 15:40.

Officers were called out to reports that a horse and a rider had fallen - after the horse was spooked by the motorbike approaching them from a blind bend.

The horse rider suffered injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

The next of kin of the woman, who was in her 50s and from Melksham, have been told.

Both the motorcyclist and the horse suffered minor injuries.

Nobody has been arrested.
