A man is receiving treatment in hospital after suffering a head injury during an assault in Bath.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the incident on George Street in the city in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 8).

Officers from the Avon and Somerset force say their findings suggest the 19 year old was punched once by another man who then ran off.

It happened near the Edgar Buildings between 12.15am and 12.45am on Sunday 08 October 2023 outside the Sub13 and Slug and Lettuce bars.

Police say the injured man initially went home following the incident, but he was later found to have suffered a head injury which saw him admitted to hospital and has left him needing ongoing medical care.

Officers add they want to hear from anyone who was in George Street at the time who saw what happened or who has any dashcam or other footage which could help the investigation.
