Pedestrian killed in A303 crash

Road remains closed as Police investigate tragic incident

A 24 year old man has died after being struck by a lorry on the A303 near Stonehenge.

Police have confirmed they were called to a collision on the A303 this morning (28/01) at approximately 2.20am involving a HGV and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and was pronounced dead this morning.

His next of kin have been informed.

A303 ROAD CLOSURE REMAINS

The A303 remains shut in both directions between the A345 and the A360.

Collision investigation has now been completed by Wiltshire Police.

The vehicle involved is being recovered and then carriageway is being cleared. The closure is expected to remain in place through the afternoon.

POLICE WITNESS APPEAL

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who was on the A303 around the same time are asked to call Police on 101 and quote log 13 of today’s date (28/01).
