Longleat will remain closed today (12th December ) due to snowfall making it unsafe for visitors.

The Wiltshire safari park, which is currently hosting its popular Festival of Light, has posted on line to say the decision was 'regrettable' but necessary due to the bad weather.

The site was also closed yesterday.

"Due to the snow making conditions onsite unsafe, we have regrettably made the decision to close the park to all guests tomorrow (Monday 12th December). Anyone who has booked day tickets, pass holder reservations or Twilight tickets for this date will automatically receive a full refund within two weeks."

The illuminated lanterns attract hundreds of people each year.

Organisers say people can rebook and there is availability on 'multiple days.'

However the popular Santa Trains have sold out and extra capacity can't be added to other dates.

It's hoped the park will be able to reopen tomorrow (13th December)/
