The make up of Bath and North East Somerset Council has been completed more than a month after local election day.

Voters went to the polls across the country to choose their local councillors on 5 May including in Bath and North East Somerset (BANES), but voting in one BANES ward was postponed because of the sudden death of a candidate.

Green Party candidate for Paulton Tim Morgan passed away just a few days before the original vote was planned.

Now though, the rearranged Paulton vote has seen Liz Hardman and Grant Johnson both elected for Labour.

The result strengthens the party's position as the official opposition in BANES, with the final make up of the council as follows:

  • Liberal Democrat: 41 seats
  • Labour: 7
  • Independent: 5
  • Conservative: 3
  • Green: 3
